Night driving
Can anyone recommend glasses for night time driving to reduce glare. If so where can they be obtained?

Hi Gillian,
I have seen some car accesory places sell 'driving glasses', but I do not know howgood they are for night driving. Another option and I must stress, this will cost more and you might have to have the legality checked and that is to have the car windows lightly tinted.
My everyday car came with a tinted window which helps remove glare at night, but I do need the rear view mirror dipped at night. I do however find I need to keep the car windows really clean on the inside as well as clean on the outside. I use Autoglym car windo cleaner and it is surprising how much muck comes off the inside of the car windows, for me this helped to stop light scattering on the windscreen, lights then appeared as proper lights. My wife and friends did not notice a differance, but it did to me. Perhaps the differance between KC and normal sight?
A few questions though;
Do you wear lenses?
In normal situations, do you find the light bright?
For normal use, I have lightly tinted glasses in addition to tinted RGP's. Your local otician might be able to come up with just the right tint for you. You will need to be carefull not to have too darker tint as this will reduce your visibilty at night which is just as bad as glare.
Hope this provides food for thought.

Thank you Gareth for your prompt and helpful reply. I wear rgp lenses and they have a very slight tint. I think the tint is so that I can actually see the lenses and the left one is blue so I know it is the left lens. I don't wear glasses for driving or doing anything important is my vision is so much better with lenses. I will certainly try cleaning the car windows. I will also ask my optician if he can help. I went in to a local optician the other day and he suggested Zeiss anti reflectiion coating but I am going to do some research prior to getting them as they may well be a waste of money. With many thanks Gillian
