Hi all,

Due to have my right eye grafted next Thursday, so just under a week to go. I have been in contact with Janet who has been really helpful (the first person with KC I have ever spoken to in person it makes such a difference to talk to someone who knows exactly what you are talking about and doesnt finnish the conversation with oh but couldnt you wear glasses!!)and after a long chat has prescribed some homeopathic remedies (Thanks Jannet they have arrived safely). Does anyone else have any other bits of useful advice...post or pre op? Im not feeling too nervous about the actual graft more the few months after it.

Relax and take it easy, take lots of music, and someone to read the forms you usually have to sign.

Might have changed now, but when I had my first graft, I had to read and sign a consent form for the Dr and anaesthatist! Nurses and ward sister could not understand why I kicked up a fuss when I wanted someone to read it for me! Hopefully standards have improved over the past 18 years.

One piece of advice, keep friend who are practical jokers at a safe distance! I had a couple and partly my fault (back in the days of Rubiks), I kept asking how well I was doing with the cube and the jigsaw some jolly jape got me.

Never did see them again!

These specs are brillient for outdoor use to keep dust out of your eye on a windy day;



Brillient if you are light sensative and as they are safety glasses specificlly for outdoor use, they have side shields, also tinted;

P.S. I had my grafts done when I was at Uni and I went back after Christmas and continued studying micro-biology and got a good degree at the end of it.
