As you probably know, NHS charges go up on 1st April each year. The price of a NHS contact lens is now £50.50.

Hope you have a good year without loosing any!

My surgeon wants me to have a contact lens on my DALK eye when he has taken out the sutures. £50.50 can probably be managed: at least I get my hearing aids free.

if we move to wales are they free.

Not that I would want to HA HA.

Before all our welsh cousins attack, I did have three good drinking (sorry study) years in Swansea.

I remember the Hanbury and Martha's vineyard oh so well.

Hehe I just got in and bought one at the end of March and ordered a new spare right lens as well as I knew that the pricing was going up!

It is not much more though. one lens was £40.50 and one was £49 and now it is £50.50

James as from April 1st all prescriptions in Wales are now free. They have been just under £4 for a long time in Wales anyway.

It would be interested to whoever is campaigning the solutions on the committee meeting to see if welsh people would be able to get solutions on prescriptions which would make them free. If so then we need to lobby more to make prescriptions free in England as well!!!

Scotland do you have free prescriptions????

I would be able to get free prescriptions being welsh but living in England if I had a Welsh GP and lived near enough to pick them up!!! So hoping that this MS treatment I might need is not expensive.
