Hey there hun,

I'm not sure if it can be related to problems with eyesight in KC, but high sugar levels are not good for health in general. Diabetics can have problems with their eyesight because of high blood sugar levels.

You will need to cut down on all sugared snacks and fizzy drinks and increase your portions of fruit and veg. The government guidelines suggest five portions of these a day.

Hoping that your blood test comes back ok, you will need to fast, as in not eat or drink for at least twelve hours prior to giving blood. Take care :D

All the best with your blood test. the docs will tell you what adjustments you have to make with your diet.

I have found diet changed has helped my lens wear time.

Cut out most caffeine but I do allow the odd treat. Only two cups coffee, no fizzy drinks, rarely drink fruit juice (eat the whole fruit instead) and these have been substituted with at least 2 litres water per day.

Since we started discussing collegen cross linking in 2004 I dramiticly increased my rhiboflavin intake while investigating the possibly of collegen crosslinking for my sight. Crosslinking not possible, but I am still on high levels of rhiboflavin. I do not take it as a suplement, but eat foods naturally high in rhiboflavin.

It may well be coincidence, but since then my KC has been stable.

Eat lots of carrotts - they contain betacaratin, which is good for eyesight!

I would say diet with out a doubt will help, in not just KC but many things. We are, as we know, what we eat.....

In terms of getting the macro's \ micro's from our foods, its becoming more and more difficult due to the processing and additives in the foods, which are bodies and digestive systems are unable to cope with. So whilst you may be eating foods in high Collagen, for example, its effects will be minimal unless your eating them by the Kilograms.....
