as most of you know im preggie 38 weeks friday wooo wooo.
Midwife came today and phoned social services to have me referred as partially sighted.
Managed to avoid this in past at the mere mention of the social services word.
Due to have app may for op waiting list.
I am NOW allowed to wear lenses for couple of hours not that sight through them is much cop really but its a slight improvement. Doesnt this mean i cant be classed as partially sighted.I can see a little for a couple or three hrs on a gud day with the lens.But without well nowt but blurs.
So wot happens now?????

has your midwife contacted social services to get you registered p/sighted?

I'm registered p/sighted as i have very ltd use when it comes to my lenses (16 hrs a week if im lucky) and my social worker is a big help as i have a 1 1/2 yr old daughter and my hubby works full-time. Going back to being registered it would be your consultant that registers you he/she has to fill the forms in.

Also when i went into hospital to have my baby they gave me a room because they were worried about hazards on the general ward.

The help is there if you ask for it

As to being registered as partially sighted, I had thought you needed an ophthalmologist's imprimatur for that. But, there are advantages; the local authority sensory impairment team will come and look at your particular needs and then supply all sorts of goodies: big number phone, blobby things for your cooker, a little gizmo that beeps when cups are getting full etc.

Let us know when your baby is born. I think we'll need to know birthweight, gender and such.
