Hello I'm new

Hello everyone.

I am a brand new user to this site, only just found it and am very pleased to have done so.

I have KC in both eyes, worse in my left, but still not too bad really. Was diagnosed in about 1993 (ish) and have managed pretty well until now with specs, however I am about to start to use my first ever pair of hard lenses.

Finding this site has been fascinating. I thought I was the only person in the world with this problem (probably am the only one where I live in Yeovil) and some of the things I have read on here have been reassuring and some a bit frightening to be honest.

Thanks to all the contributors, I shall certainly be back as and when I have something to say or can help anyone who answers a question.

I was fascinated to read the posts from people who were in fear of their jobs because KC was affecting them badly. i don't know the answers to your problems, but I do work for a legal firm, and I am going to try to find out.

What I do know is that the law sits firmly on the side of the individual these days, so whatever you do, don't give in without a fight.

Anyway that's all for now...oh and if you could all convert to being Yeovil Town fans in the future I'd be very grateful.

Best wishes

Paul M  [/b]

Hello Paul, and welcome to the forum.

I'm sure if you could shed some light on the legal position, that would be interesting to a lot of people.

All the best.

Paul

welcome to the forum, which I am sure is probably one of the things that keeps me sane.

It does seem to be a very little known about condition and I am not sure anout 'ignorance being bliss' but it does seem to be that some people can be very ignorant about anyone with a disability or problem especially as if with KC it is not apparent when looking at them what the problem is.

Good luck with the lenses and any info you can find out about recent posts will be gratefully received by myself and many others on this site.

Best wishes

Susan
