Hello
I wear the Scleral lens and use Amidose to fill it up. Does anyone know where I can buy Amidose from, even online would do. Also are there other products that people use instead of this, any good alternatives?
I would also like to know what cleaners do people mainly use. I used Boston Advance to begin with and have used Bausch & Lomb recently.
Thanks for any help.

Hi
I personally get my Ami-dose either from moorfields on prescription or buy it from Abatron who charge £11.56 for a box including P&P. Their number is 01767 261 333. I did see it the other day in John Bell & Croydon on Wigmore street W1. But that is only really useful if you are in central London.
Regarding the cleaners I use AMO complete Moisture plus but I am not sure if I am meant to be using it as it is for soft lenses.

Hiya
I use normasol saline sachets to fill my sclerals up, i get 200 25ml sachets a time on a prescrition from the doctors which is great and lasts quite a long time! I mainly use Miraflow to clean them with which works really well and i sometimes use Quattro.
Hope that helps

someperson,
I use Miraflow and Quattro to clean my lenses, I do use Amidose to fill them and if you keep it in the fridge it is ok for three days, however I tend to forget it's there so it gets wasted! so I tend to use my normal saline, Bausch & Lomb Sensitive Eyes, for rinsing and filling. I haven't had any problems doing that so far.
The saline and Miraflow I get online from Post optics and the Quattro, I get the three month supply pack, and Amidose my local optician gets for me and has done even when I wasn't actually seeing them for eye tests. I'm sure if you have a local optician they maybe able to get it for you if you ask.
Hope that helps
Lesley.

I used Total, which I flushed out with sterile saline solution.
It worked for me!

Hello
Thanks for the replies. £11.56 for a box does sound a bit expensive.
So its possible to just use normal saline ("Bausch & Lomb Sensitive Eyes"), as an alternative to amidose?. Are there any saline sachets available online?
Thanks alot anyway.

I used Amidose from Moorfields, but don't go regularly enough to get supplies for the whole year. So asked GP to prescribe. She cannot prescribe Amidose, but gives me Steripod saline. I get an annual pre paid prescription card, which works out cheaper as I also use eye drops which require a monthly prescription.
Steripod is very useful when travelling now we cannot take scissors on board planes, as it has a twist off top. I take a copy of my prescription with me and have had no trouble getting 5 x 20 ml vials through in hand luggage.

I will probably be shot for this but here goes.
I use Amidose and have ever since I got my scleral. I open a vial and dont chuck it until it is empty normallly about 3 to 4 days.
I clean my scleral with Miraflow ( i heard you couldnt get it anymore but just resupplied from postoptics)
I wash my lenses off with Bausch and Lomb for Sensitive eyes. (My right softperm uses AOSEPT)
