For me the important thing is to be aware of what can and can not be done. There is nothing worse than being told after several years that you could have done something that you were not aware of. This forum is very good for that. Someone has had an experience which can help, or information to refer you to.

The only downside is that Keratoconus is still very difficult to treat despite modern day technology - so you quickly find out there is no magic treatment to cure it!

My KC reference sources are my diary of my KC from first diagnoses, the group publications and this web site plus a few other KC related websites I have found.
