Hi Guys
As you all probably know I'm 4 weeks post graft. All was going well untill Friday night when the nasty 'GRITTY' feeling re-appeared. This has gone on all weekend now an is driving me mad. I am still on 4hrly steriod drops and i use artificial tears PRN. What do you think could be causing this ????

No redness no visual signs of any problems. but very irritating. On Friday night though, i was playing with my dog. He jumped up on me suddenly and i closed my eyes really tight. It all seems to have stemed from this.

At times a bit of irritation can be magnified by the mind and the cycle goes on.
Have you tried just putting a cool pad on it for a while? A bit of crushed ice in a damp washing felt could relieve the irritation and give you some rest.
I had some really scratchy/gritty feelings early on too, but it went away in time.
Hoping yours does, too.
cheers, Piper

Thank you piper i will try the pad. Sometimes common sense just escapes me (me a nurse too, how shameful)
It's so easy when i'm looking after patients but when it's happeneing to me i just cant seem to think straight

Screwing your eyes up may have made the sutures rub a bit more than normal on the eye lids so making them a bit tender. When your eyes are nice and wet the soreness is not present, but comes back if you are not blinking frequently such as pc use, watching tv or reading a book. Any visual task you do where you are concentrating makes your blink rate go down so your eyes dry slightly.
Craig might be suffering the same because of his Nintendo and having concentrated on the games.
