Am sure this is normal, but just checking what other "graft-ees" went through.
Week 1 after my graft was quite sore, but 2 and 3 were pain-free.
In week 4, I get several moments during the day where the eye gets sore, waters and reddens but then clears up within 5 minutes. This happens only 3-4 times a day.
Presumably is this just short pain as the eye is healing slowly?

You doing anything in partcilaur when this happens?
Do you find that previous to this you blink fast prior to the pain being experienced?

Not prior really, I just start to blink as the pain comes on as my eye waters.

Hmmm odd....only thing I can think of from experience is that during the first 2-3 hours of the day...i did find that on sime days the eye would get red and watery...but would dissapear on its own accord withint 20 odd minutes....
Def worth mentioning to your optham Id say

Craig, about the samr time as you i started to get pain in my eye my eye doesn't water or go red but i do get a sudden sharp pain every now and then.
I went through the same process pain and gunky after the op then pain free from about 2 weeks amd then back to getting a bit of pain at about 4 weeks , so i have put this down to the healing process.
I am going for a check up on Tuesday so i will check it out then.

I guess we all expect a bit of pain after an operation, but I would be concerned about the appearance of redness.
As you have raised it here, maybe it would be a good idea to raise it with the hospital. Do you have a telephone number you can ring?
In Glasgow they give patients a phone number (actually it is the ward) where we can talk to somebody in the know. They can pour balm on our anxious spirits, or tell us to come in to casualty. Then the casualty doc can say, "all perfectly normal".
Or, if there is something that needs attention, they can attend to it there and then.
All the best

The redness doesn't stay though, just red while it is sore (for about 5 mins max) then the eye goes back to normal white.
Does this make a difference? I thought I'd only need to really worry if it was permanently red.

As you know we had our grafts at the same time so i am also in week 4. This weekend has been awful for me. The gritty feeling is back and the vision is hopeless. Today is not so bad as Fri/Sat which were so bad i almost went to my eye A&E . I wonder if this is all part of the healing process?
