double vision

I am new to all this so forgive me if this is stupid question! I have been having double vision in my bad eye, i see an image and directly below a repeated image......is my KC getting worse or is this normal?

No such thing as a stupid question in my view! I've asked many!
I'm pretty new to KC too - but that is exactly the same problem as I have and I'm told this is normal. I find also that how many images I see, and how far apart they are depends so much on the size and shape of what you are looking at , and how far away it is. But unfortunately it does get worse - In fact I quite often see more than one repeated image - (see postings about moons elsewhere) and with my other eye, I see another image above the real one, rather than below. So it can - and does - get very confusing! I'm sure others with more expereince will be able to reassure you (and me!) that what you are seeing is typical of KC.
(Having read back my reply it seems a bit garbled - but I hope you get what I mean!!)

Yes what you are experiencing is very typical of KC and unfortunatley for me it go alot worse. However having said that each case of KC appears to vary so this does not automatically mean your will get worse too. I have been diagnosed with KC for 7yrs and my right eye is still holding its own without any lenses or glasses. Feel free to ask any questions which you feel we may be able to help you with.

i have kind of a very slight double vision in my good eye (only on bright objects) and like octa-vision in my bad eye..so double vision aint that bad...in my opinion:)

It is because of the multiple vision that KC is often managed by contact lenses. The theory is that the lens fits over the cone, so that the eye presents a rounded surface to the world, thereby eliminating the cause of the multiple images on the back of the eye.

thanks for explaining i am so glad i found this site! I dont feel anywhere near as scared as I was a month ago, and am not having too many bad days either although i do get very fed up on my bad days

Boy, I WISH I HAD DOUBLE VISION!! I took the Moon view test a few days ago and was seeing 42-distinct images with the usual smearing between most of them. Double vision would be great.

With my still-pretty-new graft, I see a smeary sort of C-shape with lots of sparkely spots.

With my contact in my ungrafted eye I only see eleven images........and can't wait for 1) a good lens in my graft-eye, and 2) a graft, etc in my left, or not-yet-grafted eye.

Funny, though. With binoculars, field glasses, I get a nice clear view, one only, with each eye. Pretty exciting actually. Any opticians here want to take a stab at explaining this one? I'd love to hear a bit of the physics behind this effect.
