This sounds so weird I too was at Moorefield’s (was it Rubens???!!!!!) mine also much trouble, along way to travel to from Anglesey.
My vision is poor in my left eye ( the grafted eye- pain eye) I wouldn’t let them touch my right eye and still wont.
I’m in my early 40`s wonder if we were there the same time???
I have tried everything they throw at me with regards to vision I wear different lenses in both eyes and vision is “passableâ€

Quite possibly! I was under Buckley at Moorfields before he retired. My poor vision is in my left eye too.

Del I'm really sorry that they can't get to the bottom of this pain. Are they going to do any laser treatment on these vessels?

After "speaking" to you I shall defiantly ask about laser, I think they mentioned it before but they needed to get down to the question of why the vessel growth was so active - at one point they were really bad, they put me on steroid drops (which I still take VERY occasionally after reading up about the side effects) and reduced wear of the contact lenses .The vessels did retract slowly. I’m due to go to Liverpool next month so I shall mention the laser. Thanks for being so understanding hope your OK

Del, I was on steroid eye drops for at least a couple of years in total and I didn't experience an side effects. I understand your concerns about steroids as I use a steroid inhaler for my asthma and sometimes have to take a short oral course. As I understand it, effects are minimal when used topically.

Proffessor Buckly said at the AGM that if you press your finger against you tear duct and hold it there for a short time when you apply the drops.

Then none run down your tear ducts and into your digestive system. The excess just overflows and can be mopped up with a tissue.

Steroid use can be quite serious it’s not something you see straight away and not something you take lightly either - it’s a muscle weaker along with the possibility of glaucoma if used often- to name 2 effects it could cause

delyth

Steroid use can also cause a Posterior SubCapsular Cataract; so here's the question: Doe th possible benefits of steroid use outweigh the possible disadvantages?

If the answer is yes, your course is clear. If the answer is "no" then the course is equally clear. If, as is likely, the answer is "not sure" then you have some difficult decisions to make.

Sorry not to be more positive or even a little bit helpful.

Andrew
