Postby james mckinlay » Tue 05 Dec 2006 4:21 pm

hey all hope your all doing well my hydrops is causing me pain but i can cope with it i have coped with bigger issues than this anyways.

does anyone else get sore eyes when they see the christmas lights in shopping malls.

ive noticed the lights cause some distortion in my sight.

but its worth it because its christmas time and i aint scrooge.

i was at the outdoor ice rink in glasgows george square and when i went off and took my white cane out the staff were shocked because of the way i can skate and the tricks i was doing.

i have a video of me ice skating its posted on my myspace page if anyone wants to see it let me know.

hope ur all okay

take care happy christmas

James

When I moved from Glasgow to Port Glasgow, I took my old colleague ice skating. No sooner was he on the ice than he fell and broke his ankle!

We went to the Southern General where they took his particulars:

name
age
address
occupation: Roman Catholic Priest

marital status? I explained to the clerk that the Pope did not encourage priests to marry. She blanched white an immediately started to apologize.

Hope you manage to stay upright.

Oh yes, and the answer about christmas lights and eyes: yes they hurt and they muddle me up, I suppose because there are so many sources of light

All the best

Andrew

I must admit i like the Christmas lights, especially without my lenses because they are constantly changing, who needs a kaleidascope when you have KC :D

Much as I like seeing the lights I do find them rather too bright sometimes. Sunglasses help but one does get some funny looks! 8)

Some can bother me. It depends on the sort of lights and if they're flashing. For some reason flashing lights are a real problem to me. :( I hate it if I'm sat in a car in a queue of traffic and the car in front has its indicator permanently on. I'm never sure if that's a KC thing or an Ali thing - for instance the flashing and moving Christmas images on here bother me but no one else has said anything so I take it that it's a 'me' thing.

There's a bright spotlight on a Christmas stall up at our local shopping centre that gets me right in the eye. Ouch! The last time I walked past I had my head down to block as much of it as I could with my hat and a hand held over my eyes to block the rest. My youngest had to grab my arm and guide me by it. She pulled my leg something rotten about me looking like I was up to no good and trying to avoid being caught on the cctv cameras.
