Hey, I have read the FAQ on driving with KC and would just like some clarification...

I have KC in one eye but perfect vision with both eyes open, I have a rigid lens for the eye with KC and with that can easily read a number plate at the required distance with just that eye. Do I still have to inform the DVLA and my insurance company?
Seems unnecessary since I have no visual problems with both eyes open and can still pass the test with just my affected eye.

Wait a second, just managed to find an old thread with helpful responses, and from what I can gather from that (and from reading the DVLA guidelines), I dont have to do anything since its only in one eye!

Hopefully this is correct, my main concern with having KC is falling below the legal driving limit!

Regarding driving we all have the same concerns about falling below the legal limit.

KC is very random so can stabilise as often as it gets worse. Mine got worse very quickly between March and August 2004, but since then has been perfectly stable.

Lens technology is always changing, in 2004 only RGP lenses could correct mya dvanced KC, now Kerasofsoft lenses appear to be able to do pretty much the same job.

If you jave KC in one eye and the other is OK, then you have quite a way to go before you start to come near to failing the driving limit.
