Hi Guys

You may remember I was having some problems with my lenses around May this year after finding myself pregnant. A lot has happened since, I miscarried the baby and so decided I should go get my eyes reviewed by a specialist. I had an appointment in August 06 this year with a specialist in the Isle of Man (my hometown) He requested my optician to give me a new hard lens instead of the soft lens and glasses I had been putting up with and sent me to Centre for Sight Mr Sheraz Daya. I have had a hard lens now for about 1 month which is reasonably comfortable I have to use a lot of lubrication drops. My assessment at Centre for Sight gave me mixed news, it showed I have Keratoconus in both eyes. My left one worse that the right, with the right I can see with glasses, with the left the eye chart is a blur. Mr Daya has told me I should consider Intacs for my left eye..

So I was considering this and now.... yesterday I found out I am pregnant again...so looks like I will have to prospone treatment which was planned for January 07 for my left eye now till after baby .... due 8th July 07.

Feel like I am going round in circles... My KC worries me lots. Really chuffed about baby though, just hope it doesn't affect my eyes again.

I'm so about your miscarriage Lynne, but thrilled to bits for you that you are expecting again.

Much the same thing happened to me before my first graft. While I was pregnant with a baby I later lost they decided to do a graft (after it was born of course), and there was much confusion when I went for what should have been an appointment after the baby was born for me in the mid months of another pregnancy. The miscarriage hit me hard and I found some of the comments made quite distressing so if you're in the same boat be prepared.

My personal experiences of pregnancy and my KC are that the first one actually improved it a little, I don't recall the miscarriage pregnancy having any affect and the last one sent it totally haywire.

Thanks Alison Yes its good news about baby no 2 just hope things goes fine this time and my eyes don't deteriorate too much. The specialist is just going to have to do the intacs procedure after my baby is born. Have to just be prepared for as you say his comments however, it may be a blessing the baby will be born and we won't have to wait for a period after the operation.
