Thyroid

Postby Anne B » Wed 18 Oct 2006 9:42 am

Well all these months of feeling really tired and down and blaming it on the KC, it turns out i have a underactive thyroid.
I actually feel quiet happy about this, because i now know what the problem is.
So i must stop blaming the KC and blame my thyroid instead.

I just hope my hair stops falling out soon!!!!!

Anne, Sorry to hear about the thyroid.

By the way, what is wrong with hair loss?

Yes, but what if you used the bald patch as a solar panel?

My friend has a really bad chat up line, but it has worked on a few ladies!

Unfortunatly this is not the sort of sight his chat up line can be posted on

Hi there, I am new to this group. you might like to have a look at my contribution under the title "causes".
Interesting you raise the issue of your thyroid; my personal belief is that endocrine disorders / biochemical imbalances might be at the heart of KC. these may in some instances have been triggered by pathogens and if you follow a "bad" diet, you might never get on top of the situation. Cut out the sugar and yeast and eat wholefood and you might see improvements in your metabolism and even eyesight. I noted improvements, after suffering for years.
Good luck!
I reckon there is a permanent non-surgical cure to keratoconus and I mean to find it!

Anne

All the best. I have found baldness to be not so bad, but I wish I could lose some nose hair and ear hair while keeping some on the top of my head.

I am intrigued by Michaell's suggestion.

Thyroid Sufferer

Postby Jennie Hariri » Tue 24 Oct 2006 6:40 pm

Hi there Anne,

I too, have an underactive thyroid, I am a seventeen year old and I was diagnosed with it when I was fourteen. It was only working 5%. The doctors were really worried about me. I am now on thyroxine and feeling heaps better even though I have to have regular blood tests and checkups. i was then diagnosed with KC. I do get down quite a bit but i just have to pick myself up . Well I am here to talk to if you need to - I know what you are going through
