:? Am in pain now, just had the last four stitches removed as one of them was loose. This was the one he was going to remove last time but decided not to. Today he was happy to just remove them all.

There is still a lot of astigmatism and he isn't sure how this is going to be now. I make 6/24 with pinholes but my new optometrist got 6/15 with an RGP. I am hoping that this improves. I am going back to see her next Tuesday as the fit isn't good and i need a follow up. now though it might have all changed after having all these stitches removed.

Have never been in pain after having stitches removed before, but one of them was well healed over so he had to make a cut to get it out. Have just taken some stronge painkillers as am now photophobic and my eye is really stinging. Nurses always have a good collection of these!

Am on eye drops for four days which are new ones, can't even remember the name as i gave it to the pharmacist! LOL! I am working twelve hour days Sat, Sun and Mon so won't be able to collect them, but she is very nicely going to drop them in my letter box tomorrow as she says she doesn't live far from me. How sweet is that!!! Some people really are so lovely :)

Hoping this pain settles soon, am hiding in the dark for now! Take care everyone ... a little sweetie X x X

Ooh, ouch. :( My experience has been that the soreness markedly lessens each day but the first day is very uncomfortable. I hope it's the same for you and you're feeling much better tomorrow, especially with those long shifts coming up.

Hi Claire,
I sympathise. I had all my stitches in both eyes out in one go and it was VERY painful once the anaesthetic drops wore off. I was super photo phobic with tears streaming and lots of stinging on the first day. Much better the next day - just a bit sore. It was actually more painful than the grafts. It will get better- promise!

Love Janet

Hi Claire,

Ouch! Poor you! I know what it's like having stitches dug out - my continuous stitch in my right eye (first graft) was partially submerged too, and that was a pig to remove.

If I remember correctly, I was in pain that day, and uncomfortable the day after but then I was fine.

I hope you're feeling a lot better soon.

J.

P.s. Did you meet up with JayUK? It seems that you both had followups today with the same surgeon. :)
