Andrew

Great idea -KC is very costly between cost of lenses, cleaning solutions and the inevitable time lost off work.

Health scheme for KC

Not sure anyone would take us on to cover lenses etc as we would be 100% risk.
What I would recommend is an income protection plan. I took one out as a single parent when my children were young and about 5 years after diagnosis. I declared the KC on the application. I never imagined this would be the problem in the future. The plan is now paying out after I was forced to leave my very demanding academic job after my grafts. The income has allowed me to retrain as a homeopath and to work part time. This means I can manage my own time and takes the pressure off in the morning getting the lenses in on time and when I have problems and need to remove one or both lenses.
HSA is an insurance scheme that is not expensive and covers half the cost of optician's costs, dental charges, homeopathy, osteopathy etc etc up to a certain amount.
