DVLA and keratoconus

Postby Lia Williams » Sun 18 Jun 2023 5:27 pm

Last September we were discussing the fact that the DVLA had added keratoconus to their list of notifiable medical conditions.

It looks as if keratoconus has now been removed from their list.

and it's no longer on their list of reportable conditions:

Many thanks for spotting this, Lia. It seems the change of heart has followed from an intervention by the Association of Optometrists https://www.aop.org.uk/our-voice/media- ... aop-advice
and no doubt many other organisations like ours raising concerns.
However, it remains sensible for drivers with KC to let their insurance company know they have the condition, or risk a legitimate claim being disallowed.
