Scarring on cornea

Postby Martha2 » Mon 08 May 2023 5:13 pm

A few years ago I posted about my experience with very painful scarring on the corneas of both eyes. I was getting pretty desperate!! Since then I have had several visits to Moorfields for diagnosis and treatment. The scarring (pips) is known as Salzmann nodules. Mine were right in the centre of my corneas. I had them removed in 2 minor operations and these operations were followed by 2 cataract removal operations. As a result I am now pain free and my eyesight has improved considerably. I am so glad I persevered with seeking treatment and am extremely grateful to the Moorfields staff for their care.
