I'm concerned about the pain you are still experiencing.

Re: DMEK experience
I did video, they said to use hylotear hourly, use warm flannel in mornings, also mentioned I'd seen a floater last 2 days, like a strand of hair, he said that wouldn't happen. If no different in 2 days contact again, see if External appt can be brought forward ftom Wed.
I've been crying with the pain today, just want it to stop. I wish I knew why I'm in this much pain and that it will stop

Re: DMEK experience
As I said to you off the forum, the only time I've experienced pain like this was when I had what turned out to be a snapped stitch which was obviously scratching my eye and my eyelid. I was in agony until I could get to A&E to have it removed. I don't know anything about DMEK grafts, but presumably there are some stitches? Did they check the stitches were intact when you were last seen in person? I know you were told the pain was due to the dryness of your eyes, but can that really cause this much pain? Do the Hylotears bring any relief? I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time and that it's going on for so long.

Re: DMEK experience
I was seen last Thurs Anne so they would have seen if it were a stitch problem.
I was told by A&E previously Hylo-Forte every hour. My team said NOT every hour, just a few times a day. Tonight A&E said every hour, but I'm certain they were referring to Hylo-tear not Forte which I believe is more typically used at night.
The eye definitely feels better closed, hence why mornings can feel better.
Today and yesterday have been awful, then it will suddenly ease up for like 3-4 hours and I think great I've turned a corner then it wallops me again. I do feel like I'm going mad here, because I can't make sense of it. Pain is more typically a downward curve, starts bad then steadily gets better and that's what I want.
I have seen a floater last 2 days, like a strand of hair. He said that wouldn't happen but I did have vitreous detachment a few years ago - I know that is nothing to worry about - but my only reason for mentioning it is because a small lamellar macula hole was found in the last 2 years. I don't know much about that area of the eye but because it's been so rough I thought I should mention it. I agree it is hard to see how dryness could cause such extreme pain but I don't know.
I've shoved half a bottle in it this last hour and it feels easier than the last 12 hours.
Thank you Anne and gsward, appreciate your support, I think I've been feeling very scared because of this eyes propensity for extreme post-op pain and this ongoing pain.
