Scan Results

Postby kieran19685 » Sat 06 Nov 2021 12:20 pm

Hi All

Had a scan in july on my better eye and the results were K1 value 51.7 however last week my new scan result was 52.7.

The first scan i took my lens out directly before the scan whereas the latest time i didnt wear my contacts to the appointment.

My question is could the not wearing of a lens make a difference? they want to do another scan in Janurary

Thanks

Hi Kieran,
A rigid contact lens does flatten the cornea temporarily, so you could expect a lower reading just after taking out the lens. But perhaps the difference is a bit more than the lens would usually make, so another scan is in order to check whether it's a real change.
