Hi Everyone,

What solution do GP lens wearers use? Which solution is the right one for you? Recently I have noticed that my GP lens clouds up very quickly. Any advise would be much appreciated.

I use the Boston solutions. There are two solutions, a cleaner and a separate conditioning and wetting solution. Plus saline to rinse the cleaner from the lenses. The separate cleaner is to help remove protein deposits. I also use protein remover tablets from time to time as I do get quite a build up of protein deposits on my lenses.

Sometime clouding is due to protein deposits that can't be removed and a new lens is required.

The clouding of the lenses may be due to bubbles forming under the lens. I have had this problem in the past, I kept removing the lens to clean, but it didn't cleaning it was just air bubbles forming under the lens. To cure the problem I had to get a different prescription.

Are these small RGP lenses or Sclerals?

Oté Clean is a good cleaner, but make sure you rinse it off. Quattro is a good too mainly used with Sclerals but is a multi pupose product (cleans, storage, wetting) but it is not as viscous as some products.

You should check with whoever prescribed your lenses as some have a coated surface.

If it's not sorted it might be a refit you need or just a new lens.

This is really interesting. I’ve been using total for over 30 years and in the last few months my lenses are clouding up within ten minutes of putting them in. I’ve blamed dry eye. I’ve tried everything but now I’m wondering if they’ve changed the solution. Is it just me or are others having this problem?

Yes, boots have them back in stock. But the cleaner still isn’t available.

Should be back in the shops by the end of this week, according to Bausch and Lomb.
