Cornea reshaping eye drop?

Postby Monty43048 » Tue 28 Sep 2021 7:44 pm

While searching on the internet and other reddit posts ive come across an eye drop called pachymatrix that is being developed by Auckland University which can strengthen\reshape the corneas of those who have keratoconus. Has anyone heard any updates or if it has progressed to trials.

I tried searching for information on that quite some time back but it all went quiet. A shame as it seemed very promising.

It would be best to contact the original research team in NZ. Apart from that website there seems to be little information, so may not have progressed far.

I managed to get a reply from them fairly recently that mentions they have completed a large animal study which was very successful and that they are still trying to get funding before they can move to human trials.
