OK, that's good news. Make yourself a list and work out what times to give each drop. They might be different depending how many to you need to do. So if, say, it's six times a day, do them at 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm, 10pm. Tick them off the list as you do each one, otherwise you'll forget.

He's been very tired today. Been in bed resting asleep I just kept wakeing him to do the eye drops.
I'm a bit annoyed because we weren't told how to administrate the drops or basically anything we were just given a big bag and a dosage list. Anyway I've read all the leaflets with the drops and now I know what's what, yes you should read the info but when the nurse just says shove this in 4 x a day that twice you just do what they say. I hadn't a clue even how to put the eye shield on his eye till I watched a you tube video and realised I'd got it all wrong.

Yep we were just bunged a load of boxes of eye drops in a big bag, given a list that just gave the name and dosage and not even told what they were for. I wasn't allowed on the ward so it was my husband who was given the stuff, if I'd been allowed there I'd have asked but he didn't and was told nothing apart from don't walk the dog just rest.

I've just had to trawl Internet and found this forum where I know he hasn't the same condition but he's had a transplant so I figured it couldnt hurt.

We go back Wednesday and I'll be asking questions and wanting more in depth answers than we have to Waite.

All the very best for tomorrow's appointment. I hope you'll get confirmation that all is progressing as expected and that you get all your questions answered. Let us know how it goes.

Pressure was still up but no major issues. He's to return in 2 weeks.

Paula, your two visits sound encouraging. If all goes to plan the appointments will gradually get further apart. They will keep an 'eye' on the pressure and it's really important that he sticks to his drops at the correct intervals and doesn't run around any more than the hospital says he can do.

Thanks everyone. He sees the cornea specialist Tuesday next week and the one who deals with the inside of tge eye stuff the following week.

He is takeing it easy but it's, so boring for him just doing not much. The consultant said he was allowed to drive and do things, he just had to avoid heavy lifting and bending forward and to rest where possible.

I've got the eye drops all running smoothly now. First batch at 8 am, five teen mins, apart each drop. Then second round is at 12 then 4pm,the 7pm
Then its the ointment just before bed and the lubricating drops, they said I coukd apply whenever and as often as we liked so I do them a lot.

They said it might not be possible to transplant a lens, they'll make that decision in time, they spoke of glasses and contact lens.

He's, some sort of glass bubble or liquid bubble stuff in the eye and can't fly for a few months, but that's not an issue we don't holiday abroad, and returning yo work as a roofer and building maintenance man is out of the question till they say he can.

Yesterday was a bit of a tough day for the both of us. The enormity of what's happened and the long term implications and effects on life. We've gone from 450 quid a, week to 96 ssp. God knows when universal credit will cough up.

Least he's alive and whatever happens he's not going to die from a duff eye.
