Hi Rekeh,
I know my eyes looked quite bloody immediately post op, but how much is 'normal' is hard to say. Certainly after a week the eye no longer looked bloodshot. I'm sure I was told to ring the ward if I had any worries. You should be able to talk to one of the corneal nurses to ask their advice.

If you are concerned BMEC do have an urgent care helpline 0121 507 4440. If you are in any doubt give them a call.

Hi there I've managed to get a picture of it if that helps at all? Trying to ring the urgent care line at the moment but seems to be taking quite a while.

Hi Rekeh,
Did you manage to speak to anyone yesterday? Is all OK? As non-medics, we really can't comment on your picture, as I'm sure you'll appreciate.

Unfortunately I was on hold for 40 minutes before it automatically cut off. When trying to ring back I couldn't even connect to the number again. So all in all pretty useless. I've decided to just wait it out a few days and see if it improves.

Hi, that's unfortunate, if you are still concerned or it appears to be getting worse I would walk into A&E at BMEC.

Hi there,

Yes I certainly will thankfully the pain has really calmed down. I'm wondering if it may just be a burst blood vessel so waiting to see if it clears plus I'm back next week anyway so hopefully all will be well.

Thank you all
