In the competitions I do concours is a measure of how clean a car is.

Delegance is strictly how pretty the car is when used in the custom car competitions you see in the US for Hot Rods.

Here it is how orignal the car is and the quality of the vehicle finish.

my car is 32 years old and unrestored and driven to every show so i loose on quality of finish but make up for it in originality.

gareth

now i understand how your sense of touch has become a useful side effect. like you say sooner or later we can discover the benefits, and appreciate more of what others take for granted. birdsong is probably a classic example
keep up the good work

my life passion ironically is photography, weird with this condition eh!
i have invested in some top gear though and all the clever wizzbangery does the focussing bit for me. and i've been published. hope to go on for a long time yet as well

Gareth, its great to hear you are a car enthusiast like myself. I am always worrying about driving with KC when I turn 17 in September, but after reading about your racing etc, its made me feel more confident.

Mike, my brother is into photography too, so I am also beginning to become more interested in it too. Good to hear your work has been published!

(sorry for going a bit off-topic)

Amarpal,

As long as you declare KC when you apply for your licence, you should be fine. The DVLA will probably contact the hospital or optom and verify what your sight is like.

If you are like me and regularly get 6/6 then your licence will be issued with no problems and you will be treated like any short or long sighted driver. You can drive only while you have sight correction be it glasses or contact lenses.

To take up racing you must be able to achieve 6/6 corrected vision with soft lenses. RGP's are forbidden incase they break during an accident, not a nice thing to happen.
