It has been about 18 months since I have been diagnosed with KC and am now looking at getting contact lenses.
Moorefields have told me that it is only a mild case and there has been no movement in my eyes in both checkups since the initial diagnosis and that I should have no problem having soft contact lenses.
I have tried a few soft lenses since then but have had no luck with being able to see that well with them and my optician just seems to want to push RGP lenses, even though Moorefields said that this is definitely not needed.
Has anyone with mild/moderate KC had any luck with soft contact lenses, presumably toric lenses??
If so, what make/brand were they??
Thanks!

Speaking of contact lenses, do you happen to know whether you can get good ones made for you in Czechia or in neighboring countries (Germany, Austria etc)? Because specialised KC lenses are hard to find here, my niece needs some, and I was thinking about looking for them during my next professional trip during which I'll be supposed to check out some of this Czech real estate, so that I can use that mission to do something for my family as well.

Hi Hahny,
Yes, people with mild KC are often able to get good vision with ordinary soft contact lenses.
RGPs can be comfortable so do give them a try if the optician thinks that they would give you better vision with them than soft ones.
I've worn RGPs for nearly 30 years (although these days I piggy back them with soft lenses underneath).
