List of the best scleral lenses/fitters in UK & Overseas

Postby mike92 » Wed 16 May 2018 9:09 pm

Hi I've struggled to find anywhere a definitive list of the best lenses KC sufferers use. I realize there is a lot of trial and error and that lenses that may work for one person may not another. However I wondered whether there are lenses which have generally been more successful than others, whether these are major brand lenses or ones tailored by a specialist.

Also I'm interested whether there are specific specialist fitters in the UK or elsewhere which have a good reputation for fixing KC issues. Again, there are an awful lot of optometrists online who say they deal with these issues, but picking through them to find the best has been difficult.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Mike and welcome,
As you say, a lens that works for one person doesn't necessarily suit another, so I'm not sure it's possible to compile a list of 'best lenses'.
Most of us get our lenses through a hospital eye clinic, where the expert optometrists for KC tend to work. But if you prefer to get your lenses privately, we do have a list of optometrists who say they have a special interest in KC lenses on our home page www.keratoconus-group.org.uk/optoms/
