Brendan Cronin was on a training secondment at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital during 2011-12. I had the privilege of having a consultation with him. An amazing young man who I could see would become an outstanding consultant. His attitude and care towards the patient was like a breath of fresh air. Pity the NHS could not retain him - our loss and Ozs gain.
