Good optom experience

Postby Loopy-Lou » Sat 01 Apr 2017 1:46 pm

Just wanted to relay a good optometrist experience. I've not seen her before (wish we could have continuity, even for half the time), and she really took the time to understand practical, psychological and social issues, and also validated how the Snellen chart doesn't translate to real life. She also recognised a big deal for me, getting a lens in (under LA) in an eye I haven't succeeded with for decades. I may not manage it, the lens may not even work, but that still didn't take away that achievement for me which she saw.

I wonder if that's the same optometrist that I saw (twice in a row!) last year, who managed to find a lens for my right eye that wasn't painful, didn't move around constantly in my eye and which I've been profoundly grateful for ever since. And above all, she listened, in a way that's sadly rare in busy clinics these days. I'll have my fingers crossed for you, Lou, that the lens will work. Keep us posted.
