Sudden change making piggy back wear impossible

Postby GaryD007 » Tue 27 Oct 2015 6:06 pm

Hi all

Yesterday something seems to have changed with my left eye and I can now no longer wear my piggy back lenses. It felt like I had scratched the cornea as it was sore but it's not sore today. Had lenses in for an hour today but then had to take them out. It's as though they suddenly don't fit properly anymore. Has anyone any thoughts on this?

As you say it could be a scratched cornea and, although your eye feels OK without a lens, it's not completely healed and needs a few more days to recover enough to wear a lens.

I would suggest that you leave the lenses out for a few days until the eye had recovered. If you are then still having problems it may be a good idea to get your eye checked as they can see if there are any other issues causing the problem.

Thanks Lia

I will see if I can work from home for the rest of the week to give my eyes some rest from lens wear and see if it gets any better

Tiny tear in the soft lens? The symptoms match my experience when there is a small tear or chunk missing from the edge of the lens. Not being able to see too well doesn't help when trying to spot any imperfections...

Thx Grant

I never thought of that!
