Hi Junopops.

Thanks for the post.
I've tried Celluvisc & I currently alternate between Systain ultra & hylo-forte every 2 hrs.
I've been taking omega 3 for a while now. I was given a soft contact lens a week ago to wear under my hard left lens as this is the worst eye.
At 1st it was fantastic, I thought all my problems were solved but the last 2 days I haven't been able to tolerate any len's in my left eye at all. The soft lens has become really thin & brittle after only a week even though I soak it every night. It's as though my eye has sucked all the moisture out of it! I'm starting to feel a little freakish!
I haven't tried the drops you mentioned that you use at night. I think I'll give them a go, I've got nothing to loose.

Thanks again.

On another note, any ideas how to get notifications working so you know if someone's replied to a post? Or do you just need to keep logging in to have a look?

What type of soft lenses have they given you? I use daily disposable silicon hydrogel lenses with my RGPs but the hospital tried three different types before we (ie and hospital and me) were happy with the results. It may be a different type of soft lens will work for you.

I think they're silicon hydrogel, but they plan on replacing them every 6 wks.
Thanks for the info. My contact len's specialist should be in tomorrow so I'll give her a call. Seems there's still some hope yet!

Thanks for the reply.

I was struggling really badly with dry eyes in my left eye. I work in accounts in office that can get very humid. I was using hylo forte almost every hour. The dryness and irritated eyes by the end of the day had me on the verge of manic depression.

I got schleral lenses this week and I feel like all the problems are behind me. They are so comfortable, I cannot feel the dryness in my left eye at all. I really would consider the lenses. My optician is in Lytham and I would definitely recommend him.

Message me if you have any questions or would like more details

Hi, thanks for the reply. My lens specialist has already mentioned schleral lenses. TBH I'm a bit worried about them, are they easy to get in & take out? I'm not very good with soft lenses as it is but a whizzo with hard lenses. I'm getting continual fogging wearing my piggy back lenses. I'm really pleased that they are working well for you. Thanks again.

Hi Llbradley... only seeing your reply now. I must figure out the notification thing too for when someone replies! That ointment I have been using is lacrilube. I was in with my Eye doctors here recently for a check up and they recommended a similar eye ointment called VitA pos. I think Scope Ophthalmics also make that. Its such a tedious process to try and figure out what will work. At the moment, I am having a good run of it with my eyes. So I am hoping it stays that way for a while.
How are you getting on with your contact lenses??

Hi Junopops, I'll look up those ointments that your using. I'm about to try my 2nd set of piggy backs. I have good days & bad days, more bad than good TBH. Some days I just cant tolerate my len's. When I can get them in, I get a lot of fogging. I saw my specialist Monday & she's starting to suggest scleral lens's, although I'm not keen! Thanks for the suggestions.
Best wishes.

Hi, not sure whether it would help you, but people take sea Buckthorn oil for dry eyes. See reviews on a.ma.zon for indication. Some people seem to have been informed of it by regular practitioners for dry eyes. It has omega 7 in it which is two fatty acids, vacenic if I remember is in cow milk. Not sure about the other palmit... something or other.
