Keratoconus: Yes, I have KC

keratoconus now pmcd

hello everyone

Just been for check up at moorfields and he did say pretty much stable with slight change and now i been told my Keratoconus is now got a crab shape from my pentacam which i did see and i been told i have PMCD pellucid marginal cornea degeneration. The eye consultant said Keratoconus and pmcd are similar and often mixed up between the two where KC goes to a cone shaped and pmcd looks like a beer belly.

Here is a link from my previous post from last year bout my KC viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15675&p=71646&hilit=madman#p71646

Has anyone had experience of this and what am i expecting to happen will it stay stable, will it deteriorate and i get poor vision?

Thank you for your help just bit worried

We've had quite a few forum users with PMD over the years - I don't know if any of them are still active on the forum. But as you say, PMD and KC are similar with the main difference being the location of the thinning in the two conditions (on the edge of the cornea with PMD). So I don't think the change makes any difference to the replies you got to your original post last year.
It's great that you still have good unaided vision, that things have stayed pretty stable, and that you're the age you are which makes it much less likely that it will progress much.
Good luck!
