What advice is their for KC patients, i sit next to a window with a fan for cool air. Would a dehumidifier help, whats recommended for lubricating the eyes

Hi shoebp,

It's good to hear that you keratoconus is stable.

Have you see the Keratoconus at Work factsheet?

If you wear contact lenses sitting next to a fan probably doesn't help. If you need the fan to cool you make sure the draft is not blowing into your eyes as it can make dry eye symptoms worse. Similarly I doubt if a dehumidifier would help as it would dry the air.

Going natural is the best thing for your eyes! Opening a window and natural sunlight beats a fan/air-con unit or artificial lighting.

Best thing for lubricating eyes is eye drops :P

And if you can't open a window, then a humidifier (which makes the air more moist) rather than a dehumidifier might help.
