Virtual Reality

I was diagnosed with keratoconus four years ago and have so far been coping well without treatments. The disease is significantly worse in my left eye to a point where the world when looked through it is essentially a blur. My right eye is near enough okay but I often find it difficult to read text at distance. Due to this I cannot see 3D due to the stereoscopic requirement.

I'm interested to know if anyone has had any experience with any virtual or augmented reality headsets like the Oculus Rift and has a condition similar to mine. How badly does the use of one eye effect these types of devices as I am really excited to get my hands on one of them but won't bother if the experience is sub par.

Your query made me Google for answers, this guy's done some testing with Oculus Rift...

Really interested in Microsoft HoloLens myself! Just out of curiosity, when you say 'without treatments' does that mean you don't use contacts or glasses?

I do not use contacts or glasses at all.

Any reason for that? They might stop your blurriness and difficulties in reading text... I certainly wouldn't want to live life without my contacts!
