I'm surprised its as few as three quarters. In my experience it is closer to 100%

What are they referring to here, menus etc? I would suggest (if possible) getting the menu up on your smartphone or tablet and zooming in on what you need to look at.

This is the reason I either order the same thing from places or read menu's before leaving hte house, or use a magnifier on my iPhone at a meal n panic if things I know from memory are not able to be made that day, or why I am a creature of habbit n eat in independant places who give a hoot about accesibility x
