I'd say it was 95% back to normal now.
There's always risks and even as I was in the room preparing for treatment I was still asking questions (and remember I've already had this done once) but tbh the consultant put my mind at rest somewhat... he said if I was a member of his family I'd be getting CXL whether I liked it or not lol. He also said if it was on the NHS people would be referred for it without any questions asked.
Actually he explained something else too... which is something that always annoyed me; that I was never told about CXL on my first consultation with the NHS. He said it used to be the case that if someone mentioned a treatment that was only available privately, they could actually lose their job! I guess someone losing their job is more important than someone losing their vision
anyway he said it's changing now, and if they
don't tell you, they can be done for negligence. Just a shame I was seen before that was brought in.
To be honest I also think part of the reason I chose to go through CXL again was to stop my mind thinking, 'should I or not' for the next 10 years! Physically worse atm, during recovery... but mentally better.
