Hi all,

I've not posted in a while - but was just wondering if anybody on here could lend some advice.

I use Clinitas Soothe eye drops daily and on quite a regular basis throughout the day.
However, my eyes still seem to "dry up" quickly and they get fairly irritable (this happens both with & without the lens in).
I don't feel like the drops alone are really tackling the problem.

Is there anything else I should be trying to combat the dry eye issue?
Maybe try a new eye drop? Or use a different, more viscous drop in the morning / at night before I go to bed?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

same problem for me but only happens when at work where the air con is on or the heating is on very high.

Is there a connection with dry eye and KC?

Does dry eye come first and if left untreated then cause KC?

I use "Hylo Forte" preservative free "intensive lubrication" as prescribed by MREH.

Its the best I have used to date. Also keep it in fridge to lower contamination risk and also so this gives a refreshingly cool sensation when drops applied. Preservative free drops have to be used within 6 months of opening

Years ago I was prescribed with Systane none preservative drops by MREH which resulted in the formation of crystallization of the solution in my eye presumably caused by the heat created by the friction between the rgp lens and my cornea!

Its expensive. Were there is a clinical need I feel we should be entitled to these free, something else I feel that our charity should be making representation and campaigning for as our one voice.

I use Clinitas Soothe. It comes in single use vials and is the most effective lubricant I have found. The sad thing is that what works very well for me may not work well for anybody else, so the advise is to keep trying until you find an artificial tear that works for you.

I've been using Clintas Soothe for several years but decided to try a different drop just to see how I got on! Bought some phials of Blink Contacts last week and so far so good (very very early days though) but as others say, it's probably a very personal thing!

I recently started usign Hyabak eyedrops. So far i have found them excellent. They are also preseravite free.

I had dry eyes for the first year of wearing RGPs and I gotta say was the most annoying thing ever, especially when my eyes used to go pretty red. A couple of months ago I decided to switch my lens solution from Quattro to Synergi and this made a massive difference! I've not had dry eyes since but still do on the odd occasion due to the environment I'll be in. I use hycosan eye drops which are preservative free which helps a lot too!

I've not been aware of problems with dry eyes before but I was recommended to start using Systane Ultra by the hospital during my last check-up - been impressed with it so far.
