2014 AGM

I posted this in the Charity forum as well but from the number of views it's had I thought it worthwhile putting it in here as well.
Has a date and venue for the AGM been decided yet? I travel quite a bit and would like to work my diary around the meeting. It may also be useful for other members who may need to arrange transport and hotels - the more notice, the better chance of obtaining the lowest prices.
Thanks.

Hi Grant,
The AGM will be on Saturday 15th March in Moorfields Eye Hospital, London in the Clinical Tutorial Unit on the 2nd Floor, starting at 10.30. Our speakers will be Catey Bunce, Principal Statistician at Moorfields and Richard Cable, Research Assistant, talking about 'What is Research'. Some members will have heard Catey speak at the Cornea Day in London last October and will know how interesting her session was. So do come along.
Our latest newsletter, with details of this and other meetings should be with all our mailing list members this week.
Anne

finds it sad that a national charities AGM cant be located more centrally to enable greater participation from its membership.
as hotel n accomadation for many is out of budget n day trip out the question
will the agm be broadcast for those unable to attend via a platform such as ustream?

http://www.tunehotels.com/my/en/£55 for Friday 14th March, 15 minute walk from Moorfields. Tiny rooms, clean, comfortable, warm. I've stayed in them half a dozen times and would do so again.
http://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/340/ ... Road-hotel£73 for Friday 14th March. 10 minute walk from Moorfields.
Both are currently full for the Saturday night.

but when you factor in train fare hardly an affordable over night trip for many of us.
As a single parent (who doesn't recieve any child maintence) I can't justify more than my child benefit and child tax credit on a hotel room n they wont even put a dent in train fare.
However Grant, if you are offering to pay for my hotel, feel free :p

I've been told my post has been interpreted as obnoxious, condescending, insensitive and seriously offensive.
I apologise.
