Welcome to the forum!
It may be a good idea to search the forum and also take a look at the FAQ section.....as the topic has been covered , both from a patient and also a procedureal perspective
Above that, if you have any further information which you require feel free to ask away

Im having the treatment in May sometime. Im intriged as opposed to excited about the prospect. When did you have the treatment? has anything happened? I understand that 100% it will stop progression and 50% can regress. My understanding is that it will strengthen the cornea in order for me to have further surgery (lens implants) later this year or possibly next year. ( then ill get excited!).

Now im letting myself get a bit excited having read your account.
Im having mine done in London - ive spent about 3 years looking into c3r - Ive done a lot of homework on the subject. The eye man who will be doing the treatment decided on
the the usa route having consulted Switzerland and the USA - no cutting of anything - so i can continue to wear my lenses until, if im lucky, they wont work any more. Just waiting for the equipment to arrive from america.
The second part of the treatment i find mindblowing. Ive worn contacts for 32 years, 13 years for my keratoconus, i just concieve of not wearing contacts to see!
im sorry to babble on and thank you for directing me to your experience. Im very grateful.

If you dont mind me asking, who and where are you having it done?
Do bear in mind that the regression of the cone is a nice to have, the main reason for doing C3R was to make the Cone more regular and to thicken the tissue.......regression of cone was an additional payload (a good one!).....
What is your vision aided and unaided now?

David Jory in Harley Street, London Clinic for Refractive Surgery (LCRS) is doing it. £1000 per eye for the C3R.
He made me fully aware that the C3R was to thicken and strengthen the cornea and halt the progression. He hasnt promised anything other than that and will reassess regarding the lens implants. He said to me that as far as intacts were concerned, they generally have to be removed so he wouldnt recommend them.
Eyesight - cant see the snellen chart lens less. can drive with lenses in. Sorry, cant give you anything more professional!

Thats really good news! I am glad its £1000 an eye! There have been reports of some greedy places charging upto £2000 per EYE for this!...
Sounds like you have found a good place.....
Let us know when you have it done and how it goes
