Variation in lens fit

Postby Craig Thornton » Thu 25 Mar 2004 9:24 pm

Do any of you find you get spells of your lens not fitting so well, then settling down again?

I seem to get this, but you can guarantee that when my six-monthly check up is due, it fits fine!

I guess it is impossible to get a lens to fit 100% with KC as you are trying to squash the cornea into shape and maybe sometimes the KC varies slightly.

I am going through a slipping out phase. Tonight it decide to flip out when I was turned around reversing in my car. Cue me grabbing a torch when I got home and frantically searching. Luckily I found it. At least with KC you get bigger lenses so they are easier to spot -we have to get one bonus out of it!

Craig,
The shape of the cornea is changing all the time for people with KC and all lens are on a best fit basis. While my lens prescription has remained the same for a while, there are days when my vison is very sharp or not so sharp. It seems to depend on lots of things including humidity, tempreature etc.
