As far as I can see, Yes.......Its a National Newspaper in India.....(but that doesnt mean its Kosher! so to speak) but I have no reason to think its not real news.......

This intrigued me, and I looked it up on some medical journal databases, and yes it is real, there are a fair few studies on it. Weird!!

Indeed...I just cross checked the Corneal Unit that has done this and they seem legit and kosher..

Funnily enough I have a hazy recollection of something like this being featured on Tomorrow's World about ten years ago. The test patient was asian if I remember correctly.
Are we to assume it's still very experimental or has it gone a bit more mainstream?

It sounds like it has progressed as 9 patients have had the procedure done........

Sometimes it´s useful to read the article. My first thought was they used their teeth to cut out the donor tissue! It would NOT have been a surprise!

I remember seeing a prog a long time ago about a tooth being used in surgery for an eye, I think it was at the Sussex Eye Hospital. Gives new meaning to the saying, 'an eye for a tooth'..
