Had an eye check today with the contact lens person.

When I first started wearing this large lens it was painful most of the time and felt wrong.

Two trains of thought where

Just wear it and let it settle, remember when you first had lenses.

or

It will rub the scar and aggravate the cornea and I will lose the cornea.

Well today he said it was fitting very well and there where no danger spots. I have started to wear it longer now, 5-6 hours a day. It has settled down quite a lot.

I do notice though that when I get a bit of dust or something under the lens it's a real pain. Probably down to the larger lens trapping it where it would be dislodged by the smaller type lens.

I read the chart and managed to read the line below the perfect vision level. So extra good now with the lens.

Without the lens I couldn't even see the wall

So not bad news at all


Off to see the surgeon next month though about a gallstone operation

Sometimes it is just that it takes a lot of time for us to get used to a new lens, so i am really happy for you that everything is going well and that things seem to be improving! Great vision there with it so that is brilliant!!

Best of luck with the gallstone op they are pretty much routine so i'm sure that you will be fine. Hehe don't drive the nurses too mad though as they hold the keys to your painkillers!! LOL!!

I just want to get the Trike back on the road. I can see this Op knocking me back a few months though, still it has to be done.

Hhmm are you having keyhole surgery or a full op? Post op care will differ with everyone but hoping that you will be up and on your feet soon, Sweet X x X

I've been told the keyhole is the better option, but until I speak with the 'Mr' I won't know.

I'm not looking forward to it though. I hate the coming around after. I take it badly

Also the after care might be a problem or a bit longer. I live on my own so no one here to look after me after the operation and I know they like to boot you out as soon as you can leave, I think they might want me to stay in longer so make sure it's OK.

Yes keyhole is definately better as it is less intrusive and the recovery time is much quicker. Also any scarring is kept to a minimal so the risk of infection is also smaller. Hoping it all goes well for you!

Was rushed into A&E Friday night with the worst pain yet, not nice at all.

The Dr tried to give me Gavison, he wasn't to happy when through gritted teeth I told him to , well you can guess where it was directed to,

Butterfly was inserted and real pain killers where given, bloods taken and X Rays where done.


Nothing else came up, bloods NAD and no shadows or problems on the X Rays.

Still have to wait to see the 'Mr'

Have been shaky and ill all weekend but getting better.

When my gall bladder went south I had similar excursions to hospital. Injections of major painkillers followed. Eventually they decided the GB had to go, but that was before keyhole surgery, so they seemed to use a knife and fork.

I hope that your stuation is remedied with minimal disruption to your summer tricycling.
