Hospital Visit.....

Hey guys,

I'm heading up to Derry tomorrow to see the consultant, hopefully will be getting a fitting for new lenses :D have been without my lenses now for a month or so which is crazy, with exams and assignment deadlines to meet, i'm stressed to say the least.

A question - does anyone else find that they get extremely tired when wearing glasses? i don't know if its just me but my eyes just seem to want to close after i'm studying for a few hours, with lenses i'm ok.

I'm really not looking forward to tomorrow, usually i get to see the consultant in my local hospital but some top guy in the field wants to to see me (dunno if that is a good thing! lol!) something to do with the fact that there is a family history of KC and with me having it so advanced so young! I just want new lenses that don't pop out of my eyes and find their way to the corner of my bag!

Wish me Luck,
Emma

They get excited about things like family histories. i think they have an eye on the next big publication. :D

All the best with your appointment. A visit to Derry can't all be bad.

Hello Everyone :D

Not long back from the hospital and great news - i have new lenses! i am now back in the visual world! The consultant was really happy with my eyes today - no change this time - hopefully they'll stay that way for the time being! Was in the room for over an hour, so many new machine thingy's - its crazy!

Happened to mention to the consultant that i am now driving  and he said to me "Emma how are you driving if you have no lenses?". Well i told him i have been using my glasses and he advised me not to drive with them again - apparently i'm not actually legal! Oops! Anyhow all went really well - now back to my essay on the American South. Yawn!

- I think i first started showing signs of KC when i was 11 or so but wasn't actually diagnosed until i was 13/14 - damn dodgy family genes! lol
