Hi
I have scleral lenses and use the normasol saline sachets to fill them. I have them on repeat prescription through my doctor.
Since august I haven't been able to get any with each chemist I try saying there is a manufacturing problem. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any other alternatives? Feeling a little desperate as only have 1 bag of 25 left now!!!!
Thank you
KIRSTY

Hi Kirsty,

I have always used Abatron's Amidose, I have never had a problem with them as they are preservative free and very kind to the eyes :) so perfect for sclerals. I know you will have to pay for them but they are worth it.

Here's a link to their website, the staff are very helpful if you need any help too. http://www.abatronltd.com/our-products/ami-dose/

There are other websites to purchase it from too.

Good luck, Sarah x

It is of course important to use preservative free saline when inserting scleral lenses to avoid possible toxic reactions because residual solutions can become trapped underneath the lens, which increases exposure time to the anterior ocular surface. My new company Six Six Contacts (www.sixsixcontacts.co.uk) supplys a 0.9% preservative free saline for just this purpose in a 5ml single dose ampoule. A box of 100 ampoules costs £25.00 plus postage
