One Lens at a Time?

Hi all,
I have managed to increase my weartime to around 6 hours a day, any longer and i can hardly wear them atall the next day.
I could rearly do with having good vision for a lot longer and as I have read here a simple (in theory) way is to wear one lens at a time, doubleing weartime!
I know there are people here who do this a lot of the time and was wondering how long it will take for my brain to get used to it.
I have been trying for 3 days now and have no trouble with just my right lens in as my left eye has always been the worst, but when i try with just my left lens i feel very lopsided, queezy and get a headache.
I don't feel safe to drive with just the left in and so put them both in to drive but this eats in to my weartime.
Does anyone drive with only one lens in?
Any tips to teach my brain?
Thanks all
