KC DVD ?

At the moment this is just an idea, so its all just thinking out loud but I have been mulling this over for a while now, since I watched a VHS information guide produced for people suffering diabetes and it got me thinking.
I found and amassed a nice archive of images and some video clips of KC related stuff, that maybe - potentially - a DVD might be useful, in some form or other. I know there's a stack of literature but there's a heap of other media out there that I have come across which would fit nicely for the purposes of a DVD. Maybe one already exists that I simply overlooked? I dunno ...
Then it occurred to me, with the KC Group AGMs and other conferences, if anyone had, or does the KC Group Admin actually video them? Because, for many who can't attend for whatever reason, a DVD could be their next best option, besides that, a DVD could also form part of the information pack - and there's scope to include interviews (doctors etc) maybe even KC member participation with some personal; 'how I cope with KC' obviously depends on who might be interested in actually doing that eh.
Anyway, I'm unsure the format, if its too much, or if even, anyone would at all be interested, hence this thread.
But, I just want to make clear, I'm not asking for someone else to do this as such, I've a long standing professional background in video-audio multimedia with the correct equipment and I can produce commercial standard DVD architecture which I've done in the past. So, basically, I'm curious if anyone be willing to do some sort of video-testimonial, can the KC Group Admin give it the official nod so to speak? Anyone, opinions, comments, ideas, put-downs, suggestions, input, even contributions?

I beleive one of the previous conferences / Meetings was recorded and there was talk of John making this available in due course. However, from past experience and observation I beleive that time is a critical factor in getting these things done ( as may be cost)

However, I do think its a very good idea, and something that would definatelt add value to those that visit this board; and as always Id be willing to help in any way possible; as would many others.

I guess we need to evaluate the demand for this and also how users would obtain the DVD, the cost of producing it, etc etc......

On the whole, i do think there are a number of things that can be done with the site/forum now as the membership has increased and therefore requirements have changed. However, as mentioned earlier, time and money would more than likely come into it.....but I would like to think this would not be the showstopping reason!

Well, as Jay suggested, the 2005 Conference material is well under way at the moment.

We are producing a written transcript of the conference as usual, and also a DVD. We did always plan a DVD of some sort, but are now in receipt of funding to allow this to happen.

The DVD should contain pretty much everything that happened at the conference, including the short video of a DALK graft. We hope to be releasing it fairly soon.

and is there going to be a dull soundtrack in the background lol......God that reminds me of the dull open university programmes on BBC2 in the early - mid 90's !!

Well, the aspect that Gareth is alluding to was edited out "at source" by the cameraman :-)

And attempting to avoid the boredom of a single fixed camera is most of the challenge on this project :-)

We watched a DVD of INTACS at the most recent Scottish group. It was really interesting stuff.

I think that a where medium like DVD comes into its own is less in the 'talking heads'. and more in showing actual KC in real eyes, and maybe even in showing a PK or DALK graft, somebody having C3R or even intacs.

DVD is at least pretty universal with the same encryption code throughout Europe, at least. Most people with PC's can play DVD on their computers.

I do agrew with Knight that we ought to make the most of every available technology.

by the way, I'm sorry I missed the conference discussion of DALK. Was in 'interesting'?
