other eye is not that great and is prone to double vision. This
is causing me problems in dance class, I can't pirouette on my
bad eye side and can't work out how to adjust my focus or
whether it's simply not possible to turn on that side. Any
suggestions welcomed!
Hallo Louise! - what sort of dancing are you doing? - and what
sort of pirouettes; spin on the spot, or more like making a tiny circle?
I've been wearing one lens at a time for, oh, must be about 20
years now, not always the same one, but I only have one eye
"working" at a time almost always (unless I have neither lens
in, I mean). I'm thinking back to my slightly younger days when I used to leap about doing (doubtless rather comical!) Jive
Queen stunts - I don't remember ever having any problems with
spinning one way more than the other because of which lens I had in..... that is, I'd always be at risk on a crowded dance floor of bumping into people on my "blind" side cos I hadn't seen
there was someone else so close before moving/turning that way,
but I never had any problems losing my balance or bearings while spinning.... probably cos I was doing it by "feel" rather than
sight; my muscles knew what to do and I didn't need to focus on
anything in particular. What are they asking you to adjust your focus onto?

hi all !
well done walkers!!!!!!!!!!!!
as you all know i had op about 6 weeks ago ,but i have picked up an infection in my op eye. my doc was concerned as it is a red lump in the corner of my eye. i have eye drops for it called chloramphenicol eye drops B.P.
Has anyone else suffered an infection after op ? and it will it affect chances of a rejection ?

reading your description of learning to use a camera made me laugh! I remember when I was little and they used to do a similar eye test on me, you were supposed to move a lever until the ball was in the net. Trouble was, I never saw the ball and the net at the same time. I thought that was how it was meant to be (never occured to me that some people could see both), so in my 6 year old head I assumed that you had to guess, try and estimate the difference between the two, so that is what I did - watched the ball, thought, well I know the net is a bit to the right so here goes....never found out if I ever scored or not!

But, Im just pursuing the matter at the mo so I may be able to get a number soon. And I'm thinking of going back to see my own optician they were a bit more helpful than anyone else. I'm glad you have a very helpful optician Dave, lucky you!! I feel a bit down that I dont have a useful doctor!!!! But thats life! Hi Rosemary, I'm doing Bharatanatyam [classical indian dancing]and I tried a few pirouettes and realised there was a problem,in Bharatanatyam at least the turns [quite fast] are mostly on the heel of the foot whereas in classical ballet it's on the ball of the point on demi pointe which makes balance harder yet I still get dizzy on my bad side. With dance turns we do a thing called "spotting" to prevent dizzyness and maintain balance. This is where you focus on a single spot directly ahead of you and keep looking at it whilst turning, keeping the head front for as long as possible then flipping it around, this is hard to describe, much eaiser to demonstrate!
