I just read your experience with C3R. I think that is what you are referring to. My son just had intacs put in today and is debating if he should get the C3R. We went to Boxerwhacler. He's suppose to be the only one that does it here in the US. It cost about $2700.00 and eye. Which to me you can't put a price on your eye sight if it works. Can you tell me if that is the procedure you had done and did you do the intacs with it. It is recommended that you do the intacs along with the C3R. How are your eyes doing at this point?

Susan

Boxer Wachler is highly respected within the Opthamolic community and was indeed one of the first to offer C3R within the USA.

I had the C3R performed on one of my eyes in the exact way that Boxer Wachler performs it (ie without any of the epithlia scraped off).

The eye is doing very well, and to this day the KC has not progressed. I am having a final Topography performed end of this month, which I think can be more conclusive as it will have been some months since the procedure.

I have not had intacts performed, as my main reason to having C3R was to stop the progression of KC and thus avoiding Hydrops

Hope that helps

Jay

I am really pleased to learn how well things are going for you.

It may just be that you have blazed a trail that many others will follow. I hope that you have managed significantly to slow the progression of your KC uin the cross-linked eye.

Another quick update!

Its now been months since I have had the C3R

The cornea has kepts its initial regressed state and its now reading at 53/54 OD on the Topography; thats from a high of 59 OD

Not bad if I say so myself!!

DALK is now planned on this eye; ranging from next week to within 3 months . However, I start a new job Tuesday so Ill delay it a little......as I dont think taking 2 weeks off in my first week will go down well!...if I didnt change jobs Id have gone for the DALK next week I think...oh well never mind simple stuff!
